WHAT WE DO

PTA membership dues, donations, and fundraising income are all used to benefit the students and staff at Lake Elmo Elementary.

TEACHER FUNDS

Classroom teachers and specialists receive stipends to help cover the cost of equipment, supplies, or anything else that teacher needs to help make teaching and learning a little bit better.

FIELD TRIPS

The PTA helps offset the cost of field trips and also helps fund a scholarship for student families who may not otherwise afford the opportunity to participate in class field trips.

 ARTIST IN RESIDENCE

The talented services of our artist in residence, Karron Nottingham, are retained with the help of PTA dollars.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY / PLAYGROUND

Lake Elmo PTA dollars get a great workout helping the Physical Education department keep equipment up-to-date and playground maintenance on schedule.

FUN FAMILY EVENTS

The PTA holds several free family events throughout the school year, such as our Back to School night, movie nights and Midwinter Madness.  We also organize community-building events, such as our Sharing is Caring Spaghetti Dinner and Spring Carnival

STAFF APPRECIATION

We do our best to show our appreciation for all the things our talented teachers and staff do every day for our students.

A PTA SINCE 1992

Back in the 1980s and early 1990s, the parent groups in the Stillwater School District were called Parent Advisory Committees.  The Lake Elmo Elementary PAC was a dedicated group of hard-working families, much like today’s PTA families. In 1991, a group of families started to explore other options that would include more teacher input in their organization. That spring, parents voted to establish a Parent Teacher Association at Lake Elmo Elementary starting in the 1992-93 school year.

PTA TODAY

Today, Lake Elmo PTA still attracts hard-working families and teachers — juggling the same busy schedules families do today. We’ve grown and changed along with our school, pooling our talents and giving what we can, making a difference in our school’s community. What hasn’t changed is our mission: connect and strengthen our families, support our teachers and staff, get to know our community and have fun together.

Guided by a Board of Directors that includes teachers, specialists and parents, the Lake Elmo Elementary PTA works year-round to organize events the school community can enjoy and benefit from. Our events and activities are not just for members, though. We’re here for all students, families, teachers and staff.
